Stylized Catalonia Town

My full personal UE5 environment project is now live.

This project was a big step for me in expanding from concept art into real-time 3D environment art for games. Over the past 3.5 months of full-time work, I took it from art blockout to final in Unreal Engine 5.

Before starting full production, I spent around a year learning 3D environment art in my free time taking online courses, studying game environment pipelines, and developing the initial concept, level blockout, and overall direction for the world.

I created the project from concept art to final environment assets, including the buildings, foliage, materials, set dressing, lighting, and everything you see in the final scenes.

The environment is heavily inspired by architecture around Catalonia, especially Barcelona, but simplified and stylized to fit the world I wanted to build.

Because of the large scope, I used a modular approach for the buildings, while combining some of the smaller kits in Blender to keep production manageable as a solo project. I made some performance trade-offs along the way but still above 60fps, and kept the workflow grounded in a game environment art pipeline.

For the buildings, I used two UV channels, RGB masks for leaks, dirt, and roof gradients, plus vertex painting to add variation and break up the modular look.

During the process, I also took Environment Art Mastery by Thiago Klafke, which helped me improve my workflow and understand how to approach a larger environment like this.

I’m currently open to full-time opportunities as a Senior Concept Artist or 3D Environment Artist. A role that combines both would be especially exciting.

Based in Barcelona, and open to considering relocation for the right role.
